Anthony Martial praises two Manchester United players ahead of Tottenham fixture – Manchester Evening News

Anthony Martial has praised Marcus Rashford and Daniel James for their influence on the Manchester United first-team this season.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have struggled for consistency during the current campaign but have carried a threat on the counter-attack in almost every game they have played.

A key aspect in their new style of play has been with implementing pace on the counter-attack, and Martial believes summer signing James has been integral to that.

“He’s a player who is blessed with incredible pace,” Martial told United Review.

“He really is unbelievably fast and yet he is also someone who is able to choose the right option. In spite of all that pace, he doesn’t lose control, he keeps his head and then often manages to make the right choice.

“That’s a big plus for a forward player as that way he can make assists for us all. He really is a top player and someone I wasn’t aware of before, so quite honestly, that makes him a great addition.”

The pace of Wales international James has given United added potency in attack and Martial believes the attacking addition has also helped bring the best out in Rashford.

Martial added: “For me, Marcus is quite a complete player.

“He is young but he’s a guy with a lot of experience because he started out so young.

“I think right now he is bringing a whole new dimension to his game. I hope he’ll keep going like that because that will help us a lot to improve and assist the team in general.”
